“Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.”
Proverbs 31:30 NKJV
Hold your form. Hold your focus.
Being a believer of Christ does not exempt but strengthen one for trials and tribulations. Instead of believing falsely secure world ideologies we hold posture in the Word of God being guided by His truth. Although the natural realm may attempt to impress actions and solutions, we are to focus the mind on things above to think and behave from a kingdom system versus the natural system.
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 NKJV
Trials build faith taking “I” and “me” out of the equation. The enemy desires to distort the mind with doubt, fear and self-autonomy - the capacity to decide for oneself and pursue a course of action in one's life, often regardless of moral content. As believers we subject ourselves to the government of God and instead of focusing on the worse case scenario we align our thoughts with God’s solution to prevail in righteousness. No matter the fight we are to know, stand and judge righteously by God.
"Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,"
Ephesians 6:14 NKJV
This is why knowing and applying the Word is important. You need different types of ammunition for different battles. Deer hunters know not to use a fishing rod to catch its prey and deep sea fishermen know more than a canoe is needed to make it back to shore safely.
Are you using the correct ammunition for a particular situation? You may be called to bring the light of the Word but you need the correct artillery belt. From this perspective studying scripture becomes more intentional and purposeful. One would not enter battle without the right weapons and neither should we try to overcome trials without the correct spiritual armor. Gird yourself with the truth of God’s word and stand.
